eyesight to the blind -- if only... (smash the mirror)
It's been a difficult week. Wednesday I went in to see Dr. Stremcha. I went to Iron Claw House an hour before, when Lisa was working & Mary making tater tot casserole (what else does she make?). When it came time for my appointment I walked the block to Stremcha's office. First thing, they wanted to photograph the inside of my eye with a digital camera, a process not covered by Medicaid. They apparently changed their minds when they had to use the air-puffer. I hate those things. My pressures were fine, anyway -- but my vision has deteriorated some due to a macular hole. They can correct it to 20/80, & they will be giving me trifocals, which should make using the computer easier. I fired off a bunch of email about it, but Jerome was the only person willing to write back. It's just like with Biggie. no one cares about anyone else in this family now that Mother is in her twilight years.
Thursday I had an appointment with Joe at 11:00. Trish & I walked over there around 9:30, but the Center was closed. Fred picked her up around the time that I went back to the office. The good news is that Joe has been reading Dick, which certainly transcends his Moby Grape. I ate lunch at El Taco Loco.
Friday I skipped the Center, in the interest of finishing "Astronomy Domine". Also, I didn't want to have to put up with Cheri's corned beef & cabbage. She bakes hers, so it's tough & rubbery. They served it in the soup kitchen anyway. Big Fatso tried to get into my business, so I walked out on him. When I came home I finished the short story, then relaxed by listening to "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway". I wish I had a real atomic submarine for it. That might kick-start "Relayer", though at this juncture I'm back to looking for an agent for Mindstorm. Trish had an appointment at Down Under, so it was just about suppertime when she came home. I fixed some of the chicken Trish had bought the other day & watched some TV. Leprechaun 2 was on Sci-Fi, & then TNG on G4. We mutually exasperated VADIS, which is good; something needs to be done about that bitch. I'm laughing at all the Vadisystems I ever knew now that I have a Beautiful Bumble Bee Girl.
Today Trish is doing a lot of cleaning. She wants to use the computer to play Penguins, so bi-bi blog.
